About this Blog

I am starting this blog as a means to document, and in a way, organize my own spiritual journey and to create a place where I, and perhaps others, can come  explore what it means to seek a mystical life in a modern world, what it mean to find the eternal and timeless in the midst of our frenzied and busy lives, and what it takes for an individual commit to a spiritual life while living in a society  committed to the material life.  The intention is to write abot both the practical aspects of a spiritual life (how do we find time to meditate?  What is the purpose of prayer and how do I do it?) and the mystical questions and experiences of a sojourner (What is the meaning of life?  Do we live on after we die?).

I believe we are all deeply spiritual beings and that there is no difference in potential for spiritual mastery between the novice seeker and the greatest sages.   I have no great external adventures to share with you, no magical shamanic journeys to brag of, no romantic relationships with famous gurus.  I am, like pilgrims from all times, simply trying to find my way home.  I know there is no map, no guide, no single path.  There is simply the continual and steady honing of my own inner compass.  And so this blog is perhaps my sharpening stone, my touchstone, the node I can align myself with as I refine these wanderings into a singular journey.  Thank you for joining me.
